Books - Stand Alone

DID creates memorable one-off designs for stand alone books as well. Including for memoire, thriller, and science fiction. Cover illustrations are purpose made for each book based on author requirements, theme, genre, and format. Some illustrations are based on stock photos, others are vector graphics, or digital painting. We do not use AI generation to produce any end-use artwork. There are serious implications for any use of AI and we require authors to confirm that AI has not been used in the production of their work.

At DID we provide Book Design Services for fiction and non-fiction books for all genres. We do not publish your book, we help you to become your own publisher, retain your own rights and royalties, so you can thrive on your author journey.

Whether you need ebook design and formatting, or paperback and hardcover book design, DID can develop unique designs tailored to your genre and style. We layout your book interior for readability so readers become absorbed into your words and the world of your characters. Features include pagination, and paragraph treatment, section and chapter headings and art, and can include custom interior illustration.

We develop custom covers from stock libary art and photos, or original art and graphics, to match your unique litarary flair. Each is formatted for ebook, or trade paperback and hardcover formats.

Readers do want to tell the content from the book cover, we make sure you books present their best face forward.

We provide a full service from the issue of the copy edited text through to uploadable ebooks, and print ready files for Amazon KDP, Ingram Spark, or other print production services. We can upload your books, and advise on pricing strategies, and metadata settings.

We charge a one time fee per book and you know exactly what you will get.

David of DID has been far more than a book designer and formatter for me. He has been an absolute wizard.

If I want a very specific colour, even something as exact as the blue of the sky from a photo for my fourth book, he can do it. He can also work from a basic outline to create the perfect image for the front and back of my books.

David meticulously handles formatting details like widows and orphans, chooses the perfect fonts, and adjusts font sizes when needed, including changes that affect layout, page count, and spines.

He thinks of the many small details I would never consider, making the whole process easier and stress-free. From cover design and lettering to interior layout, everything is handled with care and skill. The cover of The Kinky Cindy is a perfect example of his work.
